As most of you know, I’m a sucker for the big ticket or high tier program.

I like the fact that you can make a ton of money very quickly and that I do not have to warehouse any product, ship any product, or pretty much do anything other than click a few buttons on my laptop to make a sale or to complete the sale.

I started online over 9 years ago with a cash gifting program…that worked for me.

Now days, we “know better” than to get involved with a gifting program, BUT what about a big ticket program?

When Things Go Wrong!

It would seem that it is not enough that building a business can be tough. You have to learn a lot, develop skills, and do things that you never thought you’d be doing when you decided you wanted to go to work for yourself.

No matter what business you are involved with, no matter what niche, no matter whether or not it is online or a traditional brick and mortar things are going to go wrong!

The question is, what are you going to do about it?

Sometimes the answer to that question is nothing and sometimes that’s exactly what can be done.

What is more important is to know that bad things are going to happen, but keeping your mindset right needs to be your number one priority.

Positive Facebook Memes

Like most entrepreneurs, I try to keep my focus on my work and keep my mind in a positive state, but let’s face it, some days you just want to punch the wall and call it quits.

And those damn Facebook memes do not help one bit…at least not always, but it is important to keep the proper perspective and not blow things out of proportion.

The one day that you are counting on an employee to show up for a big meeting is the very day they will call in sick.

The perfect presentation that you have slaved over for a month is going to get lost or deleted by accident.

When you are on the way to present your million dollar idea to a group of investors, your car isn’t going to start.

I could name a million things that could happen at any given moment that you may have to deal with, things that you will feel like strangling someone, anyone over…in the moment.

Dealing with these “mishaps” though is a part of an entrepreneurs life and while I can’t guarantee you success with anything that you are currently undertaking, I can guarantee you that these mishaps will show up when you least likely expect them.

What to Do?

So what do you do when things go wrong?

First, realize that this is a temporary situation and don’t panic. A year from now you will laugh and it will be a great story to tell other dreamers thinking of taking up the entrepreneurial path.

Second, take obstacles head on when possible. Do not put things off. If the IRS is calling and wanting to audit your books, get with your CPA or accounting professional and develop a strategy.

If the car breaks down, do what you have to do to reschedule your meeting, fix the car and step back up to the plate.

Third, realize that there is no one golden moment that will keep you from achieving your ultimate goals.

Yes, you may lose a client or two over the years, but keep your nose to the grindstone and keep on keeping on. Work through the tough times.

Business can be tough, especially when nothing seems to be going right, but the one thing that you can take comfort in is that EVERYONE has to deal with mishaps and missteps along the way to success.

Focus on what it is that you want and why it is so important for you to accomplish that goal. You will find a way.

You Don’t Have to Sell

In the video below, and on my YouTube channel http://youtube.com/elitemarketingsystem, I discuss the fact that you DO NOT have to be a great sales person to generate online income.

Now, I am not going to say that you do not have to sell, that would simply be a lie, but you do not have to possess any fancy sales skills.


Because the key to making those sales online relies mainly on two things.

Number one, you want to target the best audience possible for your opportunity, product or service.

You can do this in a variety of ways, but I like using free tools like the Google Keyword Planner.

You do have to have a Google account for this, but that shouldn’t be a big deal.

Second, you need to provide information to your audience.

If you have targeted your audience in the first step of this process then you will want to figure out what challenges that audience has.

Do they want to generate more money? Need more time?

Maybe they are just sick and tired of the daily grind of the rat race.

Whatever it is, you need to identify those challenges or problems and create the information that solves those challenges or problems.

What is the “Best” online business for you?

OK, I write something about online business almost every month…when I’m writing that is.

I am often asked the same questions again and again by people that are looking to join a business.

The main questions I get quite a bit of the time are:

What is the best type of business to run online? Should I start a shopify store or Amazon FBA? What about those big ticket programs? Those guys always say you can make a lot of money very quickly.

There is no single answer that will answer any of these questions for all people looking to start a business online.

There are a lot of factors to think about.

What type of personality are you?

Do you have the resources to go Amazon FBA?

Do you have the ability to fulfill orders with your Shopify store?

What type of sales or marketing skills do you currently possess?

Are you looking to do something very long term? Create a brand?

How much time do you have to spend on your business?

How much money do you have to spend on your business?

As always, the last question listed above always seems to be the elephant in the room for most.

For some reason, a lot of people out there have this belief that you can just show up, spend a few bucks to get a domain name and site and you can generate tens of thousands a month if not more.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but whether we are talking a business online or a brick and mortar business, business is business and there are costs associated with them both.

But let’s just jump in and really take a look.


Ecommerce, it would seem, is the latest and greatest thing online right now.

Whether you are starting your own store front ecommerce store with Shopify or some other ecom platform, there is someone just around the corner with a course that will “explain it all” and show you how to create a six or even seven figure operation for just a couple of thousand dollars.


Let’s think about this for just a moment.

First, is ecommerce a viable platform to make a lot of money online?

Yes, it can be.

Does it require a lot of skill to start?

Not necessarily, BUT…and this is a HUGE BUT, learning how to set up a store and fill it with products is just the tip of the iceberg.

You are going to have to learn a bit about drop shipping and shipping in general.

You will need to find products that are both trendy and popular.

And you will also need to learn all about advertising your products online, including testing, split testing and so on and so forth.

Most ecommerce owners do not work an hour a day on their businesses and many work much more than they would at a regular 9-5.

However, if you have the retail bug, a lot of patience, organizational skills and are willing to do a lot of testing to find what works and what does not then ecommerce may be for you.

Typically, a successful ecommerce store is going to take a little bit of money to get going, somewhere between a few hundred dollars (if you happen to find a great product or two) to a couple of thousand dollars.

And don’t forget, competition in this industry right now is extremely high, so there’s that to contend with as well.

Affiliate Marketing

I’ve been listening to people for years talk about their affiliate marketing programs and how they are doing so well selling products for others.

Admittedly, I have never been a big affiliate marketing sort of guy, so I can only rely on what other marketers have told me.

Once again, just like ecommerce, which I think affiliate marketing is a version of, there can be a lot of testing involved.

The trick here seems to be finding the perfect audience for your affiliate products.

The good news is that many affiliate programs and even businesses that have their own in house affiliate programs, offer training and marketing tools for you to use with their products.

Once you find a winning product and tie it to a hungry, targeted audience, you can generate some very good income.

This guy has been online for quite some time and has built up a very solid business over that time.

The Big Ticket Opportunity

When I first started marketing online back in 2009, I started with a cash gifting program.

I know, I know, cash gifting is at the very least on the fringes of what is legal and what is not and gifting has ALWAYS been controversial.

With that said, I didn’t know any better when I started and for a long time thought that gifting was an awesome method for generating income….because I was successful.

Looking at it now, I would not recommend jumping into any gifting program if for no other reason because there is too much controversy surrounding it and you can generate that type of income quite easily with a big ticket opportunity.

So, what is big ticket?

A big ticket opportunity is usually a program that costs over a thousand dollars to get involved with. There are even some programs with entry levels of $20,000.00 or higher!

So what’s the deal with big ticket and why are people drawn to it?

Most big ticket programs that I have been associated with or have reviewed do sell a product and you are charged for that product as well as becoming a licensed representative to go out and start selling that very same product, typically a digital product of some sort.

Many of these programs offer digital training covering areas such as self-development, online marketing or some other easily downloadable library that teaches the customer something.

The main thing here is the licensing, which allows you to market these same products to other people.

Does it work?

Absolutely! As long as there are people that are looking to learn how to market online, willing to purchase a business leadership course or some other self-development product AND have a desire to make a lot of money per sale then these opportunities are going to be around and be successful for a long time.

While many will argue that the products that come with these programs are not always the best, some of these products are very good indeed.

I personally have benefited from many products that I have purchased.

Yet, as I said above, the key is the licensing.

Most big ticket opportunities come with multiple levels within their organizations.

Some programs start out at $500 all of the way up to $20,000 or $50,000 for their information.

Depending on the level that you come in at, once licensed you could be selling these same programs to others and generating mouth dropping commissions.

Most programs will pay out 100% of the cost of the program, so if you can sell a product package at a $12,000 dollar level then you are going to earn the 12K as long as you are licensed at that same level!

For example, most people will enter this sort of business around the $3000 to $6000 dollar level. Let’s just say in this example we are buying in at $3000 dollars.

This will give you the products for all levels below yours as well as all products at the $3000 dollar level.

You will typically pay a small licensing fee, a couple of hundred dollars usually, and will have the ability to sell all packages associated with the program.

While you may sell a $6000 dollar package to someone, because you are at the $3000 dollar level you will only earn up to that level with the difference being passed up to the next qualified person at the 6K level.

Many times people will come in at a lower level and upgrade as they make more sales AND especially so when they make a few sales at higher levels.

No sense in doing the work and watching to money go to the next guy or gal that IS qualified at those higher levels!

What’s Best for You?

At the end of the day, the online business that is best for you is the one that you will have to take a look at.

I have some ecommerce sites that I generate income with as well as a big ticket program that I work with.

The one thing I can tell you for sure is that if I could only choose one, I would choose big ticket every time, but that’s just me.


Because I don’t have to inventory anything, all products are digital so the client can download them straight to their computer and the commissions are outstanding.

The one problem that I have always found is that the training is very poor if there is any training at all.

The solution for that is that I decided a long time ago that I would train people as they came in for free.

That way I knew that they, at least, would know what I know and have the same chance I have for making sales.

And no, we aren’t talking about being a hard charging, high pressure sales person. I am not a sales guy, but I learned how to generate sales without having to be.

No matter what business model you choose, make sure it is the one that you are willing to work on when the money isn’t coming in and it’s the one that will get you to YOUR dreams and YOUR goals the best way possible.


What’s Up with Big Ticket Programs?

I’m not going to lie, I have always liked big ticket programs.

I have always liked the fact that you can get out there and generate a very large income very quickly.

What I have not enjoyed is the fact that so many people cannot do the same thing.

And no matter how hard I have tried, I have had very little success helping those that have struggled with big ticket opportunities to become more successful with them.

That’s one of the reasons why I chose to start the Elite Marketing Systems Group in the first place; I wanted to help.

MOBE and Digital Altitude

MOBE, also known as My Online Business Empire and Digital Altitude have both been shut down by the FTC.

In March of 2018, Digital Altitude/Aspire was shut down by the FTC.

The reason for the injunction by the FTC was due to alleged misleading or false claims of income potential.

And if you look at the claim closely and the original site, they absolutely made false claims of income to their potential clients.

MOBE, as it would be, is actually where the owner of Digital Altitude, Michael Force, sprang from.

Ironically enough, the Federal Trade Commission came knocking on the MOBE doors quite soon after their shut down of DA, June 11th, 2018.

So why am I talking about two companies here that were shut down by the FTC for making false claims of income and income potential?

Because it is important that those of us that create coaching and training sites and or programs must be honest or we too will face the fire from the FTC.

And rightly so I might add.

You do not tell potential clients that they are absolutely going to make such and such figures in such and such time.

There are many people that are profiting in big ticket programs, ecommerce programs, network marketing programs…you name it.

And I do not believe that these programs are scams.


…you DO NOT, under ANY circumstances make promises of riches to anyone no matter what awesome program you may be in. Period!

This is a Warning

Some people may wonder why I am writing this post, I mean this occurred over a year ago!

I’ll be more than happy to tell you why.

First, as I stated above in the opening paragraph, I like big ticket programs. I like how quickly you can generate a large about of money and I even like the products that are sold.

Second, I hate marketers that lie, especially about income and income potential.

Third, I want you to be able to generate an incredible income and quite simply, a big ticket program can be a great way to do so, when you know how!

Lastly, although I promote a big ticket program and while I want to attract my audience to that program, I do believe that you must crawl before you walk and walk before you run.

Let me explain.

Crawl, Walk, Run

The idea that you or anyone else can come online and hit the lotto is a delusion.

Like everything else in life, success online comes with sacrifice and hard work. I do not believe in the idea of success that is not earned and for the most part, those that are successful have earned it, they have taken the time to learn their “trade.”

You see, I too could make claims of how easy making money online is, after all, I do think it is quite easy, but…

…easy is a matter of perspective. Riding a bicycle is easy to most people, but it can seem like a monumental hurdle for anyone that has never done so.

With that in mind, I often think of building a business online should adhere to what I call the crawl, walk, run method.

Start at the Beginning

Obviously, the first thing you will do as a human, in terms of mobility, is to crawl. Most of us humans accomplish this somewhere within the first year of our lives.

That’s a six months to a YEAR!

I mean, isn’t that incredible? That it literally takes six months to a year just to be able to crawl?

But then what happens?

Suddenly, with more confidence and a little prodding from our parents, we actually start taking steps, baby steps not to be too cliché, but ultimately we walk.

A few more months and we are running, perhaps not very well, but we are trucking along at any rate.

So what’s the point?

The point is this. While I love a good big ticket program, for a newbie to expect that they too will start generating thousands and thousands of dollars on auto-pilot is not a dream, but rather a fantasy, a fantasy that too many shady marketers will use to their benefit.

Like ALL business models, there are skills to be learned and honed. There are long days and there is constant learning.

More than anything else, there must be the “grit” to get it done, that one character trait that won’t allow you to quit no matter what.

As far as MOBE or Digital Altitude are concerned, or any other company out there, whatever they could have been has been lost by those that wanted to skip the stages that you must go through.

And this is something that all marketers should keep in mind. We all enjoy the opportunities that exist, but we mostly enjoy these things because we already know what work must be done and we enjoy even that.

If you are looking to join a big ticket company, I do not want to discourage you, but I do want to leave one piece of advice for you.

If it seems too easy, if some slick marketer out there has convinced you that you can make a ton of money, very fast without having to deal with the normal ebbs and flows of business then you are on a very fast path indeed and that path will lead to you losing money.

While big ticket is awesome, you may want to cut your teeth on a program that doesn’t cost near as much. Hone your skills, learn how to set up a sales system. Learn how to test advertising.

If you never give up, you WILL succeed, but you shouldn’t think that you are going to be able to run a marathon when you haven’t even learned how to walk across the yard.

Do the work, focus on your “education” and remain steadfast on the object of your desires. In the end, you may be the greatest “marathoner” of us all!

Is Online Income Generation Really that Simple?

I hear it all of the time; is online income generation hard or easy?

It’s a weird question.


Primarily because I am assuming that the person asking such a question is in the first place, looking to accomplish a goal or a dream.

Whether or not online income generation is hard or easy doesn’t seem to matter to me.

The real question should be, What are YOUR dreams worth?

What are YOUR Dreams Worth?

Are they worth the time and money that you will put into them?

They worth off the TV on weeknights?

What about missing the big game?

They are YOUR dreams, not mine.

As far as I am concerned, it doesn’t matter if a goal is easy to accomplish or difficult to accomplish.

Thankfully, generating an income online is NOT difficult and to me is even somewhat easy.

But the “easy” part is also a perspective.

Easy Online Income Generation

Most of my adult life I have been in the plumbing industry and while I make a good income, it’s NOT easy.

When I come online and say…write a blog post or create a podcast episode, I would say that is quite easy.

Over the years, I have been standing on my soap box and preaching the gospel about how all you need to accomplish online success is your implementation of 3 steps.

I’ve written about it in eBooks, promoted this idea on several videos and podcasts and even talk about it face to face with prospects or anyone that will listen.

Obviously, I believe online income generation is fairly easy to accomplish.

But I have to admit, riding a bike is an easy task, but if you have never ridden before, it may be a bit of a daunting proposition for you to start riding.

Yes, there are things to learn and skills to develop, but what are YOUR dreams worth?

Nothing I show and teach people about making money online is really that difficult, yet some decide it isn’t worth it.

I would say that has more to do with their lack of faith in themselves and a lack of desire to see their dreams come true.

This is a question that pops into my head on a daily basis, especially when I am in the company of people bitching about where they are in life.

The bottom line is this:

Where you are today is most likely a result of what you did yesterday.

If you want real change in your life, then change something.

If you don’t like what you are doing, your job, your home, your car, your relationships…

…then change them.

Leave your dead end job, buy a new home, get rid of your car, develop new relationships.

Your reality, your life, is YOUR responsibility.

And the question remains.

What is the best online business out there today?

How do I find out if this business is a scam or that business requires a lot of time? Or money?

I’ve been marketing online for about 10 years now and this question comes up EVERY year and it will come up every year in the future.

People are always looking for the “best” business to get involved with.

…the business that is the right fit for you, one that no matter what, you will not quit on.


Because the truth of the matter is that the business model or the opportunity itself does not predict success.

What you should be looking for is a business that you can get behind and push because you believe in the business and ultimately yourself.
